What do they do?
They increase the overall height of the Vector modular staircase.
How do they work?
"Extra treads are included in the assembly of the Vector modular staircase to increase the total number of treads and risers in the stair. Ultimately extra treads increase the overall height of the stair and the amount of space it takes up (because extra treads will increase the overall size of the stair). Most people don't need to order extra treads because the standard Vector modular staircase kit covers most floor to floor heights. However, if you have a particularly high floor to floor height you may need to buy some of these extra treads. "

What do I need to order?
The number of extra treads you will need depends on your floor to floor height. The standard Vector modular staircase kit comes with twelve treads. The top tread is fitted below the upper floor level to create a top rise that is equal to all the others in the stair. Twelve treads plus the extra step up to the finished floor makes a total of thirteen risers. You can discard some treads or add extra treads depending on your particular needs. The table below details the number of risers needed in relation to the floor to floor height on site. Remember that you get twelve treads (thirteen risers) in the Vector modular staircase kit as standard so the most extra treads you can use is three.
| Floor - Floor Range (mm) | No. Treads | Action Required | |
|---|---|---|---|
| 2005 - 2255 | 10 | Discard 2 Treads | |
| 2185 - 2790 | 11 | Discard 1 Treads | |
| 2365 - 3025 | 12 | Nothing, Vector stair kit | |
| 2545 - 3260 | 13 | You need to buy 1 additional tread | |
| 2725 - 3495 | 14 | You need to buy 2 additional tread | |
| 2905 - 3730 | 15 | You need to buy 3 additional tread |
