What is it?

A box containing the one L shaped bar, a clamp and the fixings needed to form a riser bar for the Civik spiral stair extra tread kit.

What does it do?

Riser bars are horizontal bars that fit between the treads to reduce the open gap to less than 100mm, for the safety of young children.

How does it fit?

A small plastic fitting is fixed on top of the tread near the centre column. The short end of the L shaped bar is pushed on to it and the long end is then clamped to the baluster which connects the tread to the one above. Riser bars can be fitted to the stair after it has been fully installed although it is easier to do so during the main assembly.

What do I get in each kit?

Each kit contains twelve L shaped riser bars and the necessary fixings for the Civik spiral stair.

What do I need to order?

Riser bars are optional. You don't need to buy them to be able to assemble the stair. They are an extra safety feature. If you want riser bars for your stair you need to order one of these extra singular riser bars for each extra tread kit you bought in addition to the main riser bar kit that provides the other 12 riser bars for the main stair kit.
