In this section you will find important information regarding your delivery and a list of the most frequently asked questions about deliveries. The nature of the goods we sell is such that they are often heavy and costly to transport. Please pay particular attention to this section of the site to help avoid any problems occurring with your delivery and additional costs that can be involved.

Points to Consider
- Are you going on holiday around the time of delivery?
- Are you contactable by phone during the working day?
- Can a heavy good vehicle access the delivery location?
- Will you or your builder have the space available to store your stair safely around the time of the delivery?
- Can someone on site move the goods and store them safely?
- Can you or your builder get the stair parts from the ground floor to the area where the stair will be installed?
Planning
- We would suggest that you do not schedule any installation work until a few days after the delivery date. You can then resolve any technical issues or questions you may have.
- Whilst we endeavor to deliver goods within the lead times stated, occasionally delays occur which are outside our control. In the event of this happening Staircase Warehouse will endeavor to contact you.
- Please make sure you provide us with a telephone contact number at the location we are delivering to.
General Information
- All staircases including kit spiral, modular and space saver stairs, and made to order stairs include free delivery.
- To reduce costs and shorten lead times all stairs are dispatched to you directly from the manufacturer and are delivered to you by local or regional couriers
- You will be contacted by the courier to confirm the delivery once the goods have arrived at the logistics depot that serves your area. The goods will be delivered within three days of this contact. The courier cannot store the goods for you.
- On most occasions the goods will be delivered to site using a heavy goods vehicle of 18 tons or more. Please contact us if you are unable to accommodate such a vehicle.
- Due to insurance restrictions delivery personnel are unable to enter private residences. The recipient of the goods is responsible for any additional lifting once the initial delivery has been made, the delivery courier is only allow to delivery to the curbside only. They may at their discretion move the goods at your request.
- A stair is usually delivered in a palletised box or crate, containing all the necessary parts. The complete consignment is too heavy to move by hand. On delivery you can dismantle the palletised box or crate and lift/move the individual parts into the premises.
- Our standard free delivery service only operates from Monday – Friday.

How long will my delivery take?

Can I specify a time and date for delivery?
The courier will contact you prior to delivery, you may be able to arrange a time with them and this will normally have to be within 2-3 days of the scheduled delivery.
Where can Staircase Warehouse deliver items?
Delivery is available to all UK mainland addresses. Customers living in some remote rural areas should note some delivery services are either extended or in some instances not available at all. If you think you live in one of these areas please contact us and we will try to assist you.
Can I call you on the morning of delivery to confirm the delivery time?
No, unfortunately you can't contact us on the morning of delivery to confirm the delivery time. However you will have already contacted you to confirm whether the item will be delivered during the morning or afternoon by the courier making the delivery.
Do I have to sign for the delivery?
The delivery company will require a person over the age of 18 to sign for goods as proof of receipt. Although we recommend you sign for your own goods, it is not required that the signature be from the specified recipient.
